In Person Workshop for Parents of Preschoolers ages 2-5

The preschool years can be especially challenging for both parents and children.  Young children change and develop physically, emotionally, and socially so much during the ages of 2-5 that it’s a challenge for parents to keep up.  This experiential workshop will focus on the specific challenges and developmental needs of preschool age children. Participants will be introduced to the basics of Positive Discipline philosophy, learn how to get to the core of their child's misbehavior, and practice kind and firm tools that will help them with everyday parenting problems. We will have the opportunity to address specific parenting issues through the Parents Helping Parents Problem Solving Steps process. This class is ideal for parents and others who care for young children and want to “lengthen their tool belt” with Positive Discipline techniques.

Based on the bestselling Positive Discipline parenting books by Jane Nelsen, parents, teachers, and caregivers will learn mutually respectful solutions for raising kids to feel “I am capable, I can contribute, and I can use my personal power in useful ways to improve my life and the lives of others!” Positive Discipline teaches long-term parenting skills that will encourage children to think for themselves, become more responsible and have a greater respect for themselves and others. We will explore some non-punitive and non-permissive methods that will incorporate kindness and firmness into your relationship with your children.

This is a live, in-person workshop. Pre-registration is required and there is an 8-person minimum needed to hold the class.

Masks will be required for all participants. Adult participants only, no childcare is available.
